Vivian Maier
If you didn't hear about the lady and love B&W photography, check it and watch it (somewhere). This document movie was more interesting and captivating for me then most of the current so called thrillers and action movies. Great photographer. you can watch some other videos with the photos on youtube as well.

Daniel Zaleski niesamowite i zupelnie nie do uwierzenia, ze w czasie swego zycia pokazala tylko "pare" fotografii i tylko paru ludziom. taki talent, ale moze wlasnie dobrze sie stalo, ze nie zrobiono niej ikony jeszcze za jej zycia, zupelnie inne mialaby zycie (juz chyba nie byla by niania) ...
Viola Kuniej myślę, że w Polsce również jest sporo takich historii, ludzie tworzą wspaniałe rzeczy i nikt o tym nie wie, może kilka najbliższych osób... sądzę, że byłoby z nią tak, jak z Van Goghiem - poznali się na nim po śmierci.

Daniel Zaleski Yes and there are numerous other videos on youtube. Just type the Vivian Maier and search. I found the bbc document interesting as well.
vera Thank you Daniel for sharing that! I've discoverd Vivian Maier thanks to @Katrina not a long time ago. And can only confirm your choice! I'm impressed by this woman street photographer. Considering the period in which she lived and the means at her disposal, this gives to me an impressive relief to her work! I love the scenes of life she caught with her eyes, mind and camera!
Daniel Zaleski Vera, I meet regularly with a group of local photogs. Fine people. The only quible I could have is that some of these people are so technocratic that they judge other people just by the camera system they use. I really struggle with them and cannot accept their arguments and I always point to the great masters of the past who used technically worse cameras and yet produced amazing photos. For me it is always primarily the photog and his vision / the way he views the world and the tools (old analog camera, latest dslr, mobile phone) is just secondary (of course I know the limitations for specific uses). Vivian is a great example of such photog.
