Sony Alpha 7 with FE 24-105 F4 G OSS anybody?

I own this lens since about 2 months and observe awful vignettes on my pics on lower f, but up to F11... and even further! It is visible on all focal lengths, but especially on wide angle pics. And it's not the frame of the UV filter. Does anybody know if this effect is 'normal' for this lens or did I buy one that's not ok? I am a bit disappointed... 🙁 The pics I uploaded on Tookapic look all relatively ok since I corrected them carefully or cut the corners away. And I'm not sure if I had the problem from the beginning, does not look so bad on the first pics I took with it. I'd be glad if anybody could help me. Otherwise I'll have to send it to the service centre and perhaps they'll laugh at me and tell me it's just normal.

Lauren Huston I find it has fairly heavy vignetting as well. Bit of a pain with the amount of panoramas I create, but it's one of my favourite lenses overall due to the versatility and sharpness.

jazzie Hm... It‘s just that nobody seems to be bothered as much as I am by that vignette when I read reviews about it. That‘s why I‘m not sure if it‘s normal.

jazzie I found out what the problem was. After writing directly with sony, where I was told to send the lens to repair, and going to a camera shop, where they couldn't directly help me, but where I could test an other copy of the same lens and try my lens on a camera in the shop, I came home and was more embarrassed than ever before. The lens did not look as bad on the other camera. And the other lens looked worse on my camera. So I had to sit down and think. Since no other lens has this problem on that camera, it could not be the sensor's fault... but maybe the software's! So I remembered that few weeks ago I had updated the firmware - and - tadaaa! - during that firmware update, the auto-lens-compensation must have been switched off...! Now it looks much better! :-)
