We've been thinking about this for quite some time now. A place for amateur photographers to discuss beginner techniques, cameras, photo ideas, etc.
And now it's possible. We developped a simple discussion board. It's a tiny little copy of reddit, but just for the tookapic community.
Links to tutorials, new techniques. Galleries that could inspire us. Photography news. Camera reviews. Buying guides. Feel free to ask about anything that's related to photography or running a 365 project.
There are a few requirements for you to be able to post and comment here. First of all, you need to be at least level 3 user. That's because we want this place to be about the community really. So you need to post at least couple of pics to be able to join the discussion. No random users allowed.
Second, you can only post 3 stories a day. We only want a valuable content here. Spamming with self promotional links is a bad idea.
So yeah, that's pretty much it. We hope to see some really valuable content posted here.
Paweł Kadysz I'm glad you like the idea. I really hope so too. I'm a part of few online communities and the one at tookapic here, is by far the best. So yeah, I hope it'll take off soon.
Ben Lind I think the community is so great because we're all in on the ground level in some sense, or at least it feels like we are. That gives a sense of camaraderie.
John Dykstra Whoop whoop!
Josef Murphy I was hoping for forums of some sort. I am very excited.
