Variation in Photos

I'm curious about how you all feel when approaching variation in your photography.

Do you try to keep variation, and keep your subject matter varied and interesting? Or do you do the opposite, and just take what you feel you can see each day?

Both can work, the barebones point is a photo a day, but I'm interested.

Paweł Kadysz To be honest, it kind of bothers me that my photos are so random. On the other hand, after few hundred days of daily photo taking, I know it would be impossible to keep a "series" or a themed project going for so long.

We'll be launching another premium feature next month - it's called Galleries. It will let you create galleries of your photos, or series, if you prefer to call it like that. For example, you might be taking portraits every now and then, and you'll be able to create a "Portraits" gallery in your profile to keep all those in one place.

Emily Bell Interesting question Aaron! I would say that I take a photo of whatever I feel like, but at the same time, that often leads me to similar subjects - mostly water in form of macros - because that's just what I feel like on that day. I try to avoid taking a similar "type" of water close together, because that seems easy, and I'm in this to challenge perspective, but like with my last two photos, one is water from the tap and the other is condensation on a water bottle, and that's ok for me.

Emily Bell P.S.: How did you manage to start new paragraphs? When I hit enter it "saves" the message...

Paweł Kadysz Try pressing CTRL + Enter. Just like in Facebook comments.

Emily Bell Don't have Facebook

But hey - It worked! :) Thanks!

Paulina M I like choosing a theme for my next few photos. It's easier for me that way. I like to have a plan and stick to it. So the idea of galleries sounds very good to me :)

Lauren Huston My photos can be repetitive but a lot of that is because I tend to walk around my suburb after work, or even Brisbane City, so they can end up along the same lines. I also have my specific preferences with what I like to shoot, but occasionally I'll find something random I like.

Overall I like my rut and my familiar subjects though. :)

Gogi Golzman Couple years ago when took i my first project.. i tried to make a weekley themes .. and its not that easy.. actually its pretty boring. I think that the point of the project for me is to explore myself in different things.. ofcourse you'll always go back to your comfort zone.. but to take similler variations its not that easy.. and somthing that i always say.. the best pictures are the ones that you think of them randomly, minutes before you turn on the camera.
