Inexpensive remote trigger

Does anyone have any recommendations for a cheap remote trigger for Olympus OMD EM5? I used to use a triggertrap, but I lost it recently, still no idea where it fell out of my camera bag, but I can't really afford to replace it right now, especially with the cost of shipping! I want to be able to use it to trigger my camera when doing long exposure, and also to maybe do timelapse/startrails. I wish I hadn't lost the triggertrap cable, was still exploring all it could do :P

Satoshi T @Grace you need remote trigger with cable or without cable using radio wave or infrared?

Grace I'm not sure, maybe just with cable is fine. I am sad I lost the other cable.

Satoshi T you need timer for automatic on/off? or you will operate yourself after long exposure?

Grace hm yes maybe a timer would be good but not totally necessary

Marcin N Woźniak For bulb times use simply rubber band.
Put lid on a lens, use rubber band to lock shutter, take off lid - profit :)

Satoshi T Wow nicely simple idea! Thank you @Marcin !

Grace heyyy thats a good idea, I wanted to take a star trail photo yesterday but no trigger yet so I didn't

Marcin N Woźniak If taking off the lid causes movement of the photo, try using small black cloth or something you can take not moving the camera.

Kazzi Grace... I know I shouldn't recommend it, but take a look at aliexpress. When I put "olympus remote trigger" I've got results about 10 USD... :D

Satoshi T @Kazzi , Oly RM-UC1 is being sold about over 60USD now. @Grace , can you get one from some compatible product manufacturer in cheap hand from Amazon in New-Zealand ?
