I remember we already had such discussion earlier but I can't find this topic so ...
On my example: I have many followers who are not active anymore and to be honest I don't know how popular is my project. I also know that we have "younger" users with really beautiful projects but their number of followers is lower. In my opinion it will be difficult (even impossible) to collect so many followers as older users already have.
I can imagine that before last change it was difficult to measure who is active and who not but now we know how many active users we have (hero and super hero).
What do you think?
Ewa Kudlaty I'm not sure. I'd like to see such distinction on my list of followers. Will be able to see it?
Paweł Kadysz Does it change anything? You can't make someone unfollow your account. Even if their account is dead.
Ewa Kudlaty I don't want to unfollow users who I follow. I want to know how many users who follow me are inactive
Jakub Szymański Yeap, that would be nice. Ex. "You have 300 followers but only 20 are alive". Maybe just automatically erase followers who have inactive account longer than...
Magda Korzewska I don't think this is good idea, people come back to try second time to finalize project.
Paweł Kadysz @Ewa why do you need to know that?
Ewa Kudlaty
I give you an example: I have 1104 followers, e.g. @Rafal - 715, @Paweł - 533
Looking on the numbers it seems that my project is the most popular. I'm not sure:-)
On Tookapic mobile app I see "Users-Popular projects" prepared based on followers number. Is it still true?
If we will keep this ranking based on an active followers we will have real overview which project is really popular. Of course can happen that inactive user decides come back tommorow. She/he still has my account as followed (nothing changed) then Tookapic will start count this user as active and my number of followers will increase.
If she/he will stop pay (means: will be inactive) my number of followers will decrease.
Jakub Szymański It sounds good to me!
Ewa Kudlaty @Magda there is no impact on users who come back. Inactive user still will have followed projects. I mean only change the counting criteria.
agnieszka bladzik ok, it's mobile app and that was not changed/updated/upgraded and now on website i cannot find such ranking lets say. I can only see people by category or location.
Ewa Kudlaty @agnieszka you are right I also dind't find such ranking on website. Anyway if you will look on particular user, followers are one of three (photos, completed, followers) main indicators.
Guys, if you agree with such calculation it can stay as is. I reised this topic because in my opinion it's a little "half truth". That's all:-)
agnieszka bladzik I just think that now @Paweł have more things to fix ;)
Magda Korzewska @Ewa my comment was to Jakub, about erasing non active users.
Ewa Kudlaty Sorry for missunderstanding. I agree with you:-)
Jakub Szymański Misunderstanding, I had in my mind erasing inactive followers from user list, not erasing their accounts. Like Ewa said but she used words "active/inactive". ;)
Magda Korzewska misunderstanding indeed
Tomek Zimnocho Not paying user isn't necessary inactive follower. I had a break in taking pictures after I finished year 1 (until yesterday when someone forced me back by paying my subscription for a whole year) but I was still watching. I was even commenting sometimes. And if I could do that others can too... I'd rather look for users who didn't log in / visit for, let say, 2 weeks
Piotr Daniel So this discussion motivated me to look into my followers list... And it made me kinda sad - so many forfeited projects and inactive accounts :( And it seems that only 5 or 7 active people follow me...

Paweł Kadysz I'm working on a new /people page with various filters for listing users. "Dead/Active" accounts will be listed there as well. But I'm not sure if that's what you're looking for?
