I'm quite interested, what do Tookapicers think about it. It's number one subject around my facebook for a few days.

Vogue Poland

And my question is: what do You think about it? What do You think about the photo?

i like the creativity of people, already saw few remakes ;)
is it me or Pałac is tilted?

Kazzi It is.

agnieszka bladzik i think that this bothers me the most ;) photo itself i think is quite ok, don't know if it fits vogue

Anne It's what I find most disturbing too ;)

Damian Cichy Osobiście zbytnio nie przepadam za zdjęciami stricte modowymi, ale koncepcja fotki z okładki mocno przypadła mi do gustu (to chyba przez te super czarne retro autko).

Daniel Zaleski My 2c:
1. Terrible photo (the building collapses to the righ, structures on the left side ???, strange composition) ...
2. Maybe it is intentional and should stir, start discussion, hate talk etc. = free advertising as everybody will know that Vogue starts in Poland ...

I dare say it is really intentionally controversial and should only attract everybody's attention.

Jan Buchta I was sceptical when I saw it first time. Nothing special, I thought. But nothing happens without reason. So I opened Google ;) When they publishing this cover photo there was so many hate on the internet. I didn't see any good opinion on web. But probablly nobody knew what was the inspiration for photographer.
Vogue's cover is connected with old polish photos from 60's. Photo by Polish photographer Romuald Broniarka, made before the Palace of Culture and Science in March 1960. The photo comes from the session for the cover of the weekly 'Przyjaźń'.

Maybye this is not the best picture on cover photo for first edition of prestigious magazine, but now cover like this makes more sense :)

agnieszka bladzik 'orginal' looks way better :D

Jan Buchta You're welcome :) I didn't know that Vogue starts in Poland as well but I saw that is hot topic in the web. My first impresions was similar than yours, I mean: "photo looks like taken 5 minutes before printing using phone and it looks like snapshot, not a professional photograph". It's actually looks like that.

Piotr Daniel Personally I don't like it. Seems some people think are still a post-soviet country. And other people seeing this cover might go along with this. As for technical aspects of the photo - I also find it uninspiring and the crooked building hurts my symmetry loving eyes ;) But being in marketing business for years now I think it was made strictly for getting buzz out of the controversy. I don't care about fashion and yet I am discussing the magazine - that's the best evidence :D

365 Shades of Calvados I can fully agree with that.

Tomek Zimnocho It's not my thing at all, hurts my eyes but this composition is working in it's own way. I'll describe my perception of that shot - "dynamic" composition of static scene forces me to focus even more on models. Violent but effective. Now I need to look at some calming landscapes.

Paweł Kadysz I know modern art is bullshit (I mean all those blue squares and paint stains on canvas sold for millions). This is not the case here. This is one of those photos that make me think that maybe I'm just not smart enough to appreciate the art.

I found Juergen Teller's Instagram: instagram.com/juergentellerpag... and... I don't know. It seems like all his photos were taken just to make you ask yourself - "Really? This is the guy charging tens of thousands for shooting celebrities? Really?! AYFKM?!"

But then again, I remember that maybe I'm just dumb.

Kazzi Same thinking.

Tomek Zimnocho Don't assume you'r not smart enough for art. Art isn't made for artist - art is made for others. To be successful sometimes it's enough to convince someone he is stupid enough and don't understand, to be good you need to be good enough to be understood.

agnieszka bladzik for all that would like to have the session like Anja Rubik with potatos [inside of this Vogue] I can recomend potato wall in Muzeum Emigracji in Gdynia ;)

Marta Tomaszewska I think that this photo as a photography is... so so, with the accent on not so ;-)
But... it become a meme so fast, everybody is talking about it, I've seen 40+ makeovers, and from that point of view I think it's a success. The art was in connecting old photo with modern models and "style", with symbol of Warsaw which is widely recognized and I think everything is by purpose made not perfect. For sure if this photo wasn't so controversial, nobody would even noticed this magazine in Poland. For me - well played :)
