Cat portraits

In last weeks I shoot for a few friendly cat breeders. The photographs are fine, but I'm not entirely happy with them. Few you can see on my profile. Have you any suggestions, advice or tips how to make them better?

jewels Hi Marcin, I took a look at your cat pictures and I really do feel that you have really managed to catch their spirit in quite a few. I am a cat lover and I must say they are tough creatures to shoot as they hardly keep in place and tend to come and stick their nose on your objective. As for most portraits, I feel the real show stopper are the eyes, either when they look straight at the camera, or elsewhere but in a way that tell a story. I hear a lot of people saying that cats have cold or flat eyes, so I guess for me a cat picture that is a success is one where the eyes are clearly in focus and expressive. Hope it helps.
