Ranking and points - how is it working?
i am just curious how this ranking works - there are points gathered, and there is a change with + and sometimes -. What is a mechanism of this pointing.

Paweł Kadysz Number of photos, streak, missed days and number of people invited. For every photo posted and friend invited we award points. For every missed day and streak breaking - we deduct points.
It is possible to get on top of the ranking even if you signed up today - you'd just need to invite a lot of people.

I always wonder about long time users who keep going (I see recent photos and no missed days) although they go down either very slowly or with huge bumps of decreased score. Is it about the the streak and missed days being solely responsible for those variations?
Paweł Kadysz We want the ranking score to be dependent only on user actions. You have no direct influence on how many people follows you or how many likes your photos receive. Therefore we do not count these factors in the score.

I don't quite understand why people who haven't published for several months still have a high ranking ! Shouldn't they go down in the ranking instead of staying where they were at their last photo that they published ??
Or is it their all time streak that keeps them at their level ?? Which would mean that if I break a streak once it's over, I won't ever get much higher ! This happened on holiday this year, I couldn't find a decent wifi connection and broke my streak for a second time although it wasn't my intention !
Paweł Kadysz Yesterday we decided to rebuild the rankings, levels and score from scratch. You'll have much more control over how many points you get every day. So stay tuned! We hope to release new ranking next week.
