NEW: Photo Page & Galleries
Exciting day! We've just rolled out cool new updates. Some of those features I already announced during presentation on tookapic's 3rd birthday. So here they are.
New Photo Page
The updates are rather subtle but we cleaned it up a bit and it should now be much easier to enjoy the beautiful images and to get all the additional info about the photo like EXIF, likes, colors, tags, and...
Galleries
Until today you could only organize your own photos in galleries. Starting today you can add any photo to a gallery. So if you for example want to collect your favorite portraits from tookapic community. You can do that. Or maybe a gallery with photos you'd like to replicate? Why not!
Starting next week we'll also be featuring more and more galleries you create, so the best photos will get even more exposure.
Updated Hero page
Galleries are only available to Hero members. Those of you who are not yet Heroes should go to our brand new Hero page and see all the benefits we listed there. I hope to see you all in the Hall of Fame soon!
Upload page
As some of you probably noticed, the "Add to weekly theme" checkbox is gone from upload page. That's because it was too easy and to tempting to add a photo to a weekly theme. Every week we had to manually remove hundreds of photos not even remotely related to the weekly theme. Seriously, some themes had more unrelated pics than it had the legit ones.
You can still add a photo to a weekly theme. It takes a bit more effort though. Simply add theme's tag to your photo, for example #theme-wood to add it to the theme.

agnieszka bladzik good good, everything good beside FB announcements, i don't understand why some post like this about changes is in Polish other in English etc. didn't want to create whole talks around it but it bothers me for some time
Paweł Kadysz FB announcement is both in polish and in english. Which one you see depends on what language you have set up on Facebook.

vera I think perseverance is a great quality! Especially today in a world where zapping is king! You can't construct anything without maintaining a goal without going through difficulties. However take care of yourself and don't stay too long in a flowing boat, not to sink with !!!
Paweł Kadysz Instagram does not allow to upload to their severs via third party apps. It's against their terms & conditions. Not sure about 500px/Flickr. But that's not the priority right now. We still have a lot to do in terms of profitability first.

agnieszka bladzik hmm now i see that i have staircase gallery and you @Paweł have staircase gallery and maybe @Ian have staircases and i'm thinking if there is a point to have two such galleries, or should there be possibility to add photos to others people galleries, just a tought :)
Satoshi T Everyone began to make galleries all together. I have a feeling that the gallery is going to be muddy. We will need something like genre of Stock-photo to search the gallery itself.😀
Paweł Kadysz Yeah, and there will probably be 10 or 15 more galleries with staircases. And each of them will slightly differ from each other.
Łukasz Krebok Looking Fresh. But I do not like highlighting gallery icon. I`m not hero and this one is not available for me, so why stand out if i cannot use it. Second thing is this not equal space between gallery and sharing, I assume that when I will be hero something should be there, but I`m not and it's weird.
Paweł Kadysz But you know that if you become a Hero you will have access to Galleries. That's the whole point, don't you think?
Łukasz Krebok Agree, but I would have doubts about using color green. Consistency - Everywhere else in Tookapic this color is used to perform actions, even for my not hero account. I would think about some other kind of advertasing this premium feature. Not hide it - I get the point why it is there, just different. I like the popup tho.
Łukasz Krebok Ah, one more thing :) Consider that tooltip from Fotoforma when displayed over Smartphone model is not giving any even close results ;) For Pixel XL it was "Odbłyśnik XL" and "Tusz Canon"

I spent last 2 days in bed and looked at ours great photo to create a few galleries. This one I create with Bnw pictures which impressed me a lot. Sorry I also include one or two from my project, of course for other reason :)
