To like or not to like ?
Tookapic is about taking a photo every day, but also choosing a photo every day. That's a big part of our job, sometimes tricky...
Regarding the amount of likes there are on Tookapic since the beginning of this year, what about increasing the quality of them ?
I thought this morning when watching all our photos : if I had only for example 5 likes I could award, which photos would I choose ?

i think that many people would feel discouraged? i don't get any extra points, nobody likes what i do. I feel that people at the begging with less followers and likes really struggle. For many the fact that they are being recognized keeps them in the project. i like the simple system, i even like that the views disappeared from standard version.
If you like photo so bad put the comment there, make the author know what you fell about this photo, what you like etc. I think it's the best option. and I will comment only 1-2 photos each day that really stands out for me.
Paweł Kadysz So true. I love an email with a new comment on any of my pics. A comment takes more than just a click. And knowing that my photo deserved someone's effort is a really good feeling.
Jennifer As a rule for myself, if I like someone's photo, by which I mean enjoy it as well as click the button to say so, I comment as well. Even if there are 50 comments already. Even if just to say "The colors are pretty!" I'm not great at giving professional reccos, but I feel like a comment means more (As Pawel said as well) even if it's just my own simple two cents.
Marcin Like everybody I love likes and comments but I know now that my best pictures aren't those which have the biggest amount of likes :) Yesterday I put here photo which I was very proud and it gets 3 likes, few days earlier I post streak photo of the cigarette and it get 5 likes :D There is no logic in this but for sure it can be discouraging. There is to less discussion under photos, no comments etc. but what can we do about it :)

Michael Gatton Good thinking. How about a bonus system - in addition to your standard likes, you can award 1 bonus point per day to each of the top 5 pictures among the people you follow.
