As the life goes, there are many tough choices. My planned evening shooting was derailed by unexpected events and there was no option to just take some photo, not in such situation. I had to solve some tough family issues and didn't manage to make a photo before midnight. Will have to restart as of May 1st.. But I would like to encourage everybody to try and plan taking photos early in the day.
Jennifer It certainly does happen, but it's not the end of the world and shouldn't be the end of the project. I'm glad you're continuing to move forward with a good attitude!
One thing I do to prevent this exact thing is to take a picture of myself before I head out for the day. I never actually intend to share these. Personally, I don't like sharing photos of myself because I don't particularly want a lot of photos of me rolling around online. So I always have a photo to fall back on, PLUS I have a little nagging in the back of my mind to ABSOLUTELY take another photo that day so that I don't have to post a selfie. Not to mention, then you have a second 365 project running where you can see how you change over the years which is neat. :)
Money where my mouth is: three days when selfies saved me.
"Day off"
"Day of the selfie"
"Rockerrr"
Jennifer Exactly haha. Clearly it doesn't always work, but it does work as motivation for me on the days when I need it.

haha, great idea - my friend tried to make a facebook profile "Every day new selfie of Afera", but he did it for like... two weeks?
So after a year I managed to start a second project, paralell to my main tookapic account - 365selfiesofkazzi - with no intention to run it longer than a year, and to show him it's possible if You really want to do it. And I'm keeping it up for four months already!
120mr Fingers crossed, good luck!

Don't stop! I know it could be hell of a demotivation - I have some photos taken right before midnight, but also some taken in the very morning that were taken "just in case" and were so good that nothing else on that day came even close.
But... really, not even a photo sent via messenger? It can also count, as bad as it could be!

I sometimes take a photo of one of my plush birds just before midnight (or when I have to stay home).
Or change the date on the camera ;)
Satoshi T I think that the act is contrary to the basic rules of this community. : help.tookapic.com/what-is-cons...
Rafal I always take some pictures during the day, they are not always perfect, som e of them are really weak, but I still waiting for better one later that day, maybe even night. If not...I am using the pictures from daily "reserve"...If not take a photo of an empty plate, glass, cup or whatever You want to keep your project on. Agnieszka MW has the right! I see series of pictures where in my opinion are from the same place, the same day (same clouds, different angle etc) and they are coming as different day pictures. I don't like it but...in this situation I am not submitting to evaluate such pictures, just passing by them in my head. In my portfolio there are about 20 pictures which I would not to have...but I have them. Some of them are even well rated by the community of Tookapic.
Jennifer Isn't it funny how sometimes you'll take a streak picture and it ends up getting great reviews and comments and such? Always a happy surprise when I really disliked my photo.
Rafal My best streak photo is actually at fourth place! Taking it i just tried to save the day!
Jennifer I'm so curious, could you post a link so I can see which one??
Aga Ka Lately most of my photos are streak photos, but there will be days when I can go somewhere and do my best. I always think to just take a pic before midnight, even if its a clock ;-) and i love the fact that you can upload the photo the next day...

Paweł Kadysz Yes, that's one of the best advice you can give anyone who starts a 365 project. Take photos early in the morning. Just in case. In case like the one mentioned above.
