Our API is almost ready. Want to test it?

We're almost done with tookapic's public API. For now it will only support read-only requests. You won't be able to upload or like photos, neither posting comments will be available at start (we'll add it later).

But anyway, we're looking for API testers. Let me know what idea for an app based on tookapic data you have and I will send you access to the API in few days.

FlyteWizard YAY !!! I think you know my idea already. (If you forgot... Chrome extensions and stuff). Might think of other stuff once I see the API. I'd love to test it out :D

Chris Breitigan Will the API let you pull photos from a tookapic profile and show them on another website? For example, could I display the 3 most recent pictures from my tookapic profile on my personal website?

Paweł Kadysz You'd need to write a simple app or plugin (if you're using WordPress) for that, but yeah, that's exactly what you could do. But if that's what you want to build I'd wait a week or two, because this feature is next on our roadmap.

After we release the API, we'll work on embedding photos as well as generating simple profile widgets you can put on a website with a simple JS snippet.

Chris Breitigan That sounds great! Looking forward to it

thehand Here I am!!!! :D

Ian Prince Count me in! I'm especially interested in creating a way to post entries using email and in being able to create an offline copy of my photos and/or tags.

Luke I've used a site before that had this feature, and it's extremely convenient. Definitely a good idea!

365 Shades of Calvados Definitely want to test! :D

Kazzi I'd test android app. If You have it... nah! WHEN You have it, call for me :D

tigg Oh dear - I had to Google API snd to be honest, I'm not really any the wiser! Glad everyone is pleased about it .....

Joost van Halm I really like your honesty! Cheers!

Paweł Kadysz To anyone who is testing the API - we added some neat stuff. You can now like and comment on a photo via API as well as follow users. It's all in the docs.

Ian Prince Any way to read the docs?

FlyteWizard Awesome :D That will add cool things to my feature.

Magda Korzewska Paweł have you got my UDID? I haven't received any info how to upload app.

Paweł Kadysz API is something totally different than the app ;) We're working on getting the app to all the testers. But we want to get all the bugs fixed first, and bring the push notifications back. I got the email from the developers this morning, that the next version of Beta app should be ready tomorrow.

Magda Korzewska LOL I am not so familiar with all this staff, sorry

Julia and Solène I want to test it! you could maybe put a fitting category montage for photos taken with the phone! I look forward to see what gives her! Julia
