Half a million photos
As I write this tookapic has 499'074 days (photos) captured. In just a few hours that will be half a million.
Just wanted to say a big bravo to Pawel and Marek for such a great achievement. Here's looking towards the next half million photos :)

Paweł Kadysz I just hope we'll get to the 500K before January 1st. There are still people deleting their accounts after the "no more free tookapic" announcement. Some of them have 300+ photos. That's why the counter looks like it's stuck.

Kazzi Paweł, I'd change the option "Delete account" to "I gave up, deactivate", and deleting for people with over 50 photos should be allowed after a month of deactivating.
Ian Prince Sounds like a Facebook tactic 😉. Fear not, the community that stays will get past 500k 😃 And as they say in French “Les absents ont toujours tort” 😁
Paweł Kadysz It'd be funny if if we never reached the 500k. Like never ever. Just stay stuck at ~499.500 :P
Ian Prince I guess that's what happens when you're generous and allow users to dowload for free all their photos before deleting their accounts.... Sigh.

Paweł Kadysz 12% of all 365 projects are started on January 1st.

Paweł Kadysz That's 12% in one day. The remaining 88% is spread over 364 days. I think 12% is a lot.
Jennifer More likely they already have then saved somewhere. I have my photos on several places backed up, so there wouldn't be a reason to batch download my 1000+ photos from here unless there's something besides just the outfits that I'd be getting.

Rafal So if You are downloading your photos after you finish project they are disappear from a community ? I have most of my pictures gathered but some of them are only on Tookapic

tigg Well I think you are all clever; if I scroll to the bottom of the home page a figure flares up but in an instant it is gone! I think it just 499,978 .... possibly .... But on this page it is clear. Hey Ho.
Daniel Zaleski There are some pages that just extend when you reach the bottom (Feed works like that). You have to choose some other page and just hit End to see the bottom that will not disappear - e.g. this talk :)
